Alex Boye

Today we had the wonderful opportunity to attend a fireside given by
Alex Boye.
He is a musician and entertainer. He sings in the Mo Tab choir currently. It was one of the best firesides I have ever been attened. His testimony is so touching and genuine. He is hilarious, exuberant yet so moving in his conviction of the gospel. His voice is so beautiful. While he spoke, we laughed, we cried, we shared a common love of the gospel. It was truly an amazing experience to sit and listen to him share his love of the gospel and music.
Here is a clip about his story!  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w_wyRgwMr_A
We were able to meet his beautiful wife and baby girl too! We even shared our story of the Black Mormon Network....hahaha! He laughed and said we was definitely in!

Hurrican Katrina

Today is the five year anniversary of Hurricane Katrina. In the days that followed, I was glued to the news on TV. I couldn't believe what I was witnessing here in America. The suffering...the utter devastation was beyond  my imagination. The days passed, the levees broke...the already dire situation became even more unimaginable. More days passed and still there was no help for all these people. Such complete and utter despair I had never witnessed here in our country. My soul ached. The empathy I felt made me physically ache myself. I remember my birthday, I couldn't even bring myself to want for anything or celebrate. Hannah and I decided that we would not have any big birthday celebrations and we would donate any money we would have used for gifts to help those suffering. It wasn't much in the grand scheme, but it was all I could think to do, except pray. I will never forget how my soul hurt to the core. The suffering of so many was just so overwhelming,

I will never forget the suffering of so many.

Pool Play

Palm Springs with The Peacocks! The Peacocks graciously invited us to spend fourth of July in Palm Springs with them. The weather was Perfect! 99-102 which is fabulous since a few years ago it was 126 when we arrived! We lounged by the pool, watched The World Cup, played games and ate out every night!
We had a blast and are so grateful for the invite!

A Dad and his baby girl!
The teens were otherwise occupied, but that just meant Aliza had her daddy for herself!

Nothing like a smoothie after an afternoon in the pool!

Mojave

Mojave is such a Beautiful horse!

Just love his hind markings!
Such wisdom in his eyes!

Tacoma

We were able to spend some time with Grandma Nancy's horses, much to the delight of Aliza!
This is Tacoma, he sure loves his oat and nut breakfast bar treats!

The Family getting to know Mojave

Aliza was beyond excited to get to meet and get to know Mojave. She loves horses, just like her mom! Nancy told Aliza about the Native American Legend that if a horse breathes in your breath he knows you forever. Right after this Mojave stuck his nose in Aliza's face and sniffed her, she was amazed!

He was checking out Hannah close up
Leonard and Aralie gettin in some love!

Horseback Riding!

Grandpa George took Aliza and Hannah out on Mojave for little Jog!
Pure Happiness!
Hannah's first time on a big horse!
She wasn't so sure at first, but she warmed up to him!

The Color of the day, Yellow...or Yellow Card!

We are playing in Northern California at the Mustang Stampede Tournament. We lost our first game, but came back and won the next three games. Hannah has earned a new nickname...Hanimal! The girl is a freight train on the field, you can hit her but she just keeps going, or she will run you over too! Today she earned herself a yellow card for this hit! The other team was pushing, shoving and grabbing...our girls decided they had enough and gave it back. This was Hannah's answer to the shove that sent her teammate down.
Semi-finals tomorrow...
