First Day of School 2010

After a busy summer we started school on Aug. 12, 2010

Hannah's first day of High School! A West Ranch Freshman! She found out the first week that she made the JV Soccer Team as Freshman! Whohoo!! Go Wildcats!
A Valencia High School Senior! Wow, can't believe this is her last year of HS! Solidly entrenched in Valencia TV this year, she is earning her Career Path in Video Production. She is going to be interning with a friend at Warner Brothers Studios this Fall!
Miss Aliza is in 4th Grade now! I have 1 in college, 2 in High School and then an Elementary child...that just seems a little funny!

Aliza and Taylor tubing

Aliza and Taylor wanted a nice relaxing ride...they got it for a few min!
Then Rob amped it up a bit! They didn't want to fly out like Hannah and Jacob...so they opted out!
Practicing their dives off the boat!
Big Smile for the great time she was having. The water was just beautiful!

Hanah and Jacob tubing

Rob likes to give the kids the ride of their life! You can see in their face they see whats coming!
here it comes!
they are launched.....
boom!! The final picture before the tube flips...Hannah lands on Jacob and they come up sputtering water saying they are done!

Aliza wakeboarding

Aliza was so excited to finally try to wakeboard.
She listened to all the instruction, she got up ....
lasted for a few seconds....
then face plant! She tried several more times, she was a good sport! Her arms got tired, so we brought her in. She can't wait til she gets a chance to try again!

Lake Mead

All the girlies!!!
My favorite picture I took of Ms. Megan!
After only a few times on the wake borad...Aralie can do this!
Hannah with a big smile after she got up on the first try! She is not as brave as Aralie, so she didn't go in and out of the wake...but she looked good out there!

Lake Mead

Before heading up to Utah for EFY, we stopped at Lake Mead with the Mowers!
The water was just amazing...the aqua green that was as smooth as glass was incredible!

It's always a fabulous time on the Lake with the Mowers!
Thank you so much!

Alex Boye

Today we had the wonderful opportunity to attend a fireside given by
Alex Boye.
He is a musician and entertainer. He sings in the Mo Tab choir currently. It was one of the best firesides I have ever been attened. His testimony is so touching and genuine. He is hilarious, exuberant yet so moving in his conviction of the gospel. His voice is so beautiful. While he spoke, we laughed, we cried, we shared a common love of the gospel. It was truly an amazing experience to sit and listen to him share his love of the gospel and music.
Here is a clip about his story!  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w_wyRgwMr_A
We were able to meet his beautiful wife and baby girl too! We even shared our story of the Black Mormon Network....hahaha! He laughed and said we was definitely in!

Hurrican Katrina

Today is the five year anniversary of Hurricane Katrina. In the days that followed, I was glued to the news on TV. I couldn't believe what I was witnessing here in America. The suffering...the utter devastation was beyond  my imagination. The days passed, the levees broke...the already dire situation became even more unimaginable. More days passed and still there was no help for all these people. Such complete and utter despair I had never witnessed here in our country. My soul ached. The empathy I felt made me physically ache myself. I remember my birthday, I couldn't even bring myself to want for anything or celebrate. Hannah and I decided that we would not have any big birthday celebrations and we would donate any money we would have used for gifts to help those suffering. It wasn't much in the grand scheme, but it was all I could think to do, except pray. I will never forget how my soul hurt to the core. The suffering of so many was just so overwhelming,

I will never forget the suffering of so many.

Fireworks!

Can you see the Palm Tree right in the center of the fireworks! Fireworks against the backdrop of the Palm Springs skyline!

See what happens when girls gang up on nice unsuspecting boys! What a good sport Tyler is for putting up with my girls...especially the older one!
Thanks for a Fabulous weekend Peacocks!!!

Dinner at Roy's

Dinner at Roy's is a favorite while in Palm Springs!
Jeff and Lisa

The future couple...oh I mean Tyler and Aralie

The stars of the poolside game of Horse...Bryce and Hannah!
Mom and Dad with their Caboose, Aliza!

Tie-Dye

Lisa and Hannah had some fun doing tie-dye shirts poolside! We learned how to make spiral star with the tie-dye.

A Game of Horse

The Peacock boys challenged the girls to a rousing game of Horse!
Great form girls!

Len thought he would try to keep up...he was the first one out!
Amazingly enough the last two standing were the younger ones...Bryce and Hannah(much to the surprise of the older three). They went for a few rounds tied and then Bryce Won!

Pool Play

Palm Springs with The Peacocks! The Peacocks graciously invited us to spend fourth of July in Palm Springs with them. The weather was Perfect! 99-102 which is fabulous since a few years ago it was 126 when we arrived! We lounged by the pool, watched The World Cup, played games and ate out every night!
We had a blast and are so grateful for the invite!

A Dad and his baby girl!
The teens were otherwise occupied, but that just meant Aliza had her daddy for herself!

Nothing like a smoothie after an afternoon in the pool!

Mojave

Mojave is such a Beautiful horse!

Just love his hind markings!
Such wisdom in his eyes!
