Moving to Adulthood...Jordon turns 18!

We woke Jordon up with a song!

He hung out by the pool during the day!

In the evening we went to Yardhouse for some DEEELISHOUS food!

It was a fun night to Celebrate with friends and family!

The teens went to see Transformers and then a late night trip to the pool!

It was a simple day...but it was memorable to spend with good friends and family!
So as my first born takes his first strides to adulthood it is a time of reflection.
After 25 hours of labor(w/o pain meds) he came into the world crying loudly! The nurses told us then...oh he is going to be a stubborn one! They were right! He crawled at the end of his fourth month. Walking all around at 7 months. That's because he could not sit still. He was busy, busy, busy. The first movie he ever watched all the way through was Lion King, he was three. He received his first bike on his fourth birthday. He told his dad, take off those training wheels, we tried to talk him out of it...he wouldn't hear it. Take them off! After a few false starts, he took off riding his first two wheel bike!
He loved the outdoors, played for hours outside...riding his bike, skateboarding, rollerblading and all other kids games. He played baseball, soccer and ran track. Every year during cross-country this one little boy named Xavier beat him. When he was 10, Jordon finally beat Xavier...through the pain of pushing himself so hard...was the biggest smile!
He loved scouting, camping, rock climbing and going to the beach. Luckily he earned his Eagle at 14 before it became way to "uncool"!
At 12 he found a new love...FOOTBALL! The next few summers and into the fall, he lived and breathed Football!
At 16 he got his drivers license and his first job. A swim instructor working with kids! He is so wonderful with little kids. This summer he is working at Hurricane Harbor as a life guard. These jobs definitely show his knack for caring for others. They are a perfect fit for a career as a Fire Fighter. He has said since he was two he wanted to be a Fireman.
He has also found a new passion...video production and editing! We have had lots of great laughs watching his segments! All the single ladies is my favorite!
He has another new love too...and that would be his girlfriend Sarah. Another right of passage, your first true love!
As he gets ready to head off to college in a few weeks, it's bitter sweet! He needs to go and learn for himself about life, stretch his wings, make his own decisions and learn to appreciate how much a mom really does! However, I will miss his smile, his laughter, his jokes and his love for life!
Happy Birthday Jordon!!!!
