Piano Recital

The last two weekends have been filled with performances by Aliza. First the choir, then ballet and lastly a piano recital. Aliza has a new teacher named Aldo. He is a fantastic teacher and is pushing Aliza to do her best and learn so much about music. Her first recital with him was this last weekend in a ball room at the Hyatt. She played on a big grand piano for the first time. She said it was harder because the keys are heavier.
She performed The Ukrainian Bell Carol.

Aliza and Taylor in their first recital with Aldo!
She had her last performance for Ballet right after so we already had her hair in a bun.
Here is a little clip of Aliza playing, it cuts off right before she finishes.

The Nutcracker

Aliza's first Nutcracker Ballet Recital. Aliza has been dancing since she was three. This year she added a ballet class which participated in the The Nutcracker. The production was wonderful. The music, the costumes and the dancing was fabulous! One day she wants to be Clara and the Sugarplum Fairy!

Aliza was a Sugarplum this year. Their costume was beautiful!
Here she is with the Sugarplum Fairy! Her spins were amazing!
All of us after the show
Aliza looks  like a little ballerina! She had three dress rehearsals and two performances all in one week. It was lots of hard work, but it was worth it! She did a fantastic job!

Santa Clarita Children's Honor Choir

To add to our already crazy schedule, Aliza auditioned for the Santa Clarita Children's Honor Choir. They were privileged to sing with the Santa Clarita Master Chorale.
First they sang at a Sheriff's charity event, and then a dual night concert.
The songs were amazing and I wished I could have them on my ipod! It was a glorious concert and the children sang 4 songs with the Master Chorale.

Aliza and Larry...he is a great friend and sings with the Master Chorale
Sisterly love!
We all love Larry! It was a great opportunity and we look forward to participating in the spring too!

Knott's Berry Farm

We went to Knott's Berry farm to celebrate Veteran's Day! It was ridiculously crowded, more than any other year. But we had a fun day doing all the Knott's stuff! It's a great park for more than just roller coasters!

The girls brought some dates with them!
The trio plus one!
The girls decided their dates were too old so they asked Beth to take over...haha!

hhmm...maybe he should have been a cowboy!

A Short New -do!

It must be the age where you are applying to college and thinking about all the changes in your life to come. Then you decide you need a new-do to go with it!
Aralie decided to cut her hair short....It looks adorable!

The Train and Olvera Street

On Nov. 1st Aliza's class went on a field trip. First we took the Metrolink train to Union Station. Then we spent the day on Olvera St. It was also the Day of the Dead too, so lots of activities!

The girls with two of their favorite buys that day. Little pink leather purses and Clackers!
One of the best field trips I have had the pleasure to participate in!

A week later and I am still thinking about those Taquitos!

The Prospector...an Opera!

Aliza's fourth grade class had the wonderful opportunity to perform an opera with the LA Opera. 4 members of the opera came to rehearsals for six weeks. The kids learned about the Opera and what it takes to sing like that. They learned to be the back-up surrounding cast for The Opera titled
The Prospector. The kids were coyotes! It was an amazing school performance! It was one of the BEST school performances I have ever attended. The kids really knew their parts and their facial expressions were hilarious!

Two sassy Coyotes!
There was even a write up in the paper!

Halloween '10

We used Aliza's dance costume to be Minnie Mouse for Halloween! Add gloves and some mouse ears and viola an adorable Minnie Mouse!
Bat Girl and Minnie Mouse teamed up for trick or treating!
A neighbor went all out to create a cemetery in their front yard. It was spooky on Halloween night!
Aralie found an old 35mm camera and decided to be a press journalist. Cute Idea!
Happy Halloween!

SURPRISE!!!

The week of Aralie's birthday the kids had a few days vacation. I decided to plan a surprise party for Aralie's 17th birthday. A Scooter's Jungle Party which includes giant slides, ping pong, basketball...tons of fun!  Emalee and I came up with a guest list and Emalee sent out invites via Facebook! The cover was I had to be somewhere and Aliza and Hannah had parties at Scooter's Jungle so Aralie would have to take them. Then I had to come up with a way to get her dressed up, hair and make-up and not just show up in sweats and a pony tail!

I had Heather ask her to be a model for a brochure for the office. So she needed to be dressed and ready as soon as she dropped off the girls.

Surprise! We hid behind the check-in wall and we all jumped up and yelled surprise! You can tell by the look on her face she was Surprised!
A Big Thanks to Emalee for helping with all the planning!
One of the giant slides...so fun!

Dancin' Feet

Aliza's tap dance class performed at a community event last weekend. This is the Rockin' Robin tap dance that won Double Platinum at the Show Stoppers Competition. Her teacher Ms. Carla says a picture is worth a 1000 words and this picture shows EVERYONE's feet all in the exact position together! It's a fun routine and one I'm going to miss!
Great Job Ladies!

Joey

Mr. Joey is getting so big! He is still adorable, except when he pees in my house!

He is so funny and floppy. He lays with his legs straight out behind him.
He just got fixed, he was very depressed about it! He did not like the cone at all! He wouldn't walk or eat with it on! Joey is 6 months old now and he is best friends with Mickey. They are inseparable!

Hannah's 14th Birthday at Scooter's Jungle

Happy 14th Birthday Hannah!

We Celebrated Hannah's Birthday at Scooter's Jungle! We had 25 people running around and sliding down the giant slides! We had tons of fun!
Kris made the most adorable cupcakes for Hannah!
:-( I forgot to get a picture)
Hannah being the dare devil and going down the slide standing up!
Katie and Lauren smeared Hannah with a Cupcake!
Thanks to all for a  fun evening!
