This weekend was a bitter sweet end in two different ways. First it was the last tournament Hannah would play with her AYSO team. Hannah has only played AYSO for two years, but she has enjoyed it immensely. The best part of AYSO was her tournament coach for two years. Mark S. He taught her so much about the game. She truly developed a love of the game under his tutelage. When Hannah plays AYSO, you can just see how much she fun she is having playing soccer. She doesn't feel the pressure she feels in club soccer. She just goes out and does her job...scoring goals. Last weekend she scored 8, yes 8 goals in one tournament. This weekend she scored 4 more! Hannah has chosen to leave AYSO behind and devote her time to club. I know it was hard for her, but she wants to develop her skill the best she can. Luckily, we have found an awesome team and coach at Santa Clarita United!

One of Hannah's Goals...right over the goalie's head and into the back of the net!
The second part to the bitter sweet end was a second place medal for the tournament. We were playing in the championship game for first place. The game ended in a tie. Instead of going into overtime or a shootout. They decided to turn to a decision for winner. Overall we had scored more goals in the tournament, so we thought we had the advantage. However, the powers that be decided to go with which team had been scored on less. The other team had been scored on less by one point. So they decided to reward defensive play over offensive play....you only win a game by scoring! Ridiculous!!

That is ridiculous! I demand a re-count! Love the picture of Hannah's goal--it looks like you colorized the little shed in the background--my action shots are always blurry. Congrats Hannah!
